I have discovered bugs in a module my team has been working on that are clearly the mistake of another department. My team wishes to ignore the bugs and send the product out to customers anyway, because they feel that the other department will not fix the problem and do not want to bring this problem to the project manager. In the past people who have brought problems like this that delay the completion of a project have been seriously reprimanded. I am now faced with bringing this problem to the project manager myself or going above and bringing this to the Senior VP who I have only met once at a Christmas party.

B-D | They have the authority to go to the other department and demand that the bugs be fixed before we release this product. Upper management knows that releasing a buggy product would hurt our reputation in the long run. | This is invalidated if upper management also has no interest in fixing the bugs before release. |
C-D' | It is in my best interest not to be the one who causes trouble so I can keep a good standing in the company and also not lose my job. | I could be fired anyway if the buggy product is released and reflects badly enough on my team. |
