In order to exploit the time constraint, now and in the future I must save time today and in order to save time today I must not spend time organizing the office. But, in order to exploit the time constraint, now and in the future I must also save time in the future and in order to save time in the future I must take the time to organize the office. I can't both not spend time organizing the office and take the time to organize the office.
Relation | Assumption(s) | Injection(s) |
D-D' | We cannot both organize the office and not organize the office. We must choose to do one or the other.
B-D | 1. Reorganizing the entire office will take several days and will require the dedication of both the partners and the assistants. 2. Spending time to clean and organize will prevent members of the firm from their work on cases 3. If assistants and attorneys put their work on hold, they will get further behind, and throughput and client satisfaction may suffer. | 1. Instead of cleaning and reorganizing during the work week, the firm could meet on a weekend. This way, they will not have to put their current responsibilities on hold. 2. The investment of paying for employees help to organize the office will be justified by the amount of time saved by having a well-organized work environment. 3. Hours worked toward organization could be flexible, to prevent scheduling issues. 4. The part-time employee is about to finish the school semester, and will have much more time to invest at work. Many of these additional hours could be put towards organizing. |
C-D' | 1. Much of the time wasted at the firm is due to poor organization. 2. Time spent now to better organize the office could save countless hours of wasted time in the future. 3. The goal is to make money now and in the future. Making money now is directly tied to the use of the constraint, which is time. The more time we waste, the less throughput we generate. 4. Spending time over a weekend or two organizing the office would cost the firm money, but would save time and money in the long run.
A-B | 1. We must avoid wasting our present time in order to keep generating throughput at the current rate | 1. Using time outside normal working hours would not be a waste of present time, and would save future time - a big part of the goal of the objective of this cloud |
A-C | 1. Saving future time will only increase our potential for future throughput |
